Art McClellan is the Lead Pastor at Ortega UMC.  Art celebrates the many wonderful ways Ortega UMC lives into and shares our Vision – Connecting Christ, Church, and Community, and our Mission – Connecting every person, in every generation, in every place with the love of Jesus Christ.

Art is an eighth-generation Floridian with family roots in Tallahassee that date to the early 1800’s and whose grandmother was born and raised in Jacksonville on the banks of the St. Johns River.  He is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  Prior to attending seminary, Art worked as a staff analyst with the Florida Legislature and a manager with the Florida Institute of CPAs.

Art’s second career call to ministry came after many years of joyfully serving Christ’s Church in many non-clergy roles of worship and leadership.  Along with his wife Faith (yes, that’s her real name) and their three young children, Art attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky to earn his Master of Divinity degree.
Faith McClellan’s family are also native to Jacksonville.  Faith is a Mathematics educator currently teaching statistics at Mandarin High School.  Their three now-adult children are Sarah-Ashley (husband Ben), who is a medical resident in Denver, CO, Keith (wife Anise) who is an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy in Orlando, and Pete, a recent FSU graduate who is pursuing a career in film production in Atlanta.

Art’s passion for ministry is celebrating and sharing the joy of Christ’s love in and through the ministry of the Christ’s church to encourage our gracious Christian living in the community of faith and with the community we seek to serve that surrounds us for God’s glory.  Art enjoys multiple forms of Christian worship and is very excited to celebrate Ortega’s vibrant traditional and modern worship expressions.  Art also enjoys cooking, bike-riding, exploring hidden treasures in our own community, making new friendships and celebrating the gifts of God’s grace, love and life with family, friends and neighbors.
