The Inn Ministry provides a Christian home for pregnant, homeless women, their newborn and sometimes older children. A pregnant mom is allowed to stay throughout her pregnancy and at least through the 6 week post partum period. Women are assisted in schooling, job searches and obtaining social services. A limited amount of transportation is provided. Women are expected to assist with chores around the home, cook their own meals, and work to get out and on their feet.
The Inn is housed in a 1900s era home on Hamilton Street off St. Johns Avenue, one block west of Roosevelt Blvd. It is supported by United Way and many local churches, businesses and individuals.
Letter from a MOM:
The INN ministry has been a nurturing home for my kids and myself. It has a positive effect on my life. While living here at The INN, I’ve learned how important it is to learn and grow in Christ daily. My faith has grown and my relationship with Jesus has strengthened. My kids are also learning about Jesus and I’m ecstatic about that, because it encourages me even more to devote my life to Him.
I use to think life is OK without Jesus; it took me to go through some trials to learn there is no life without Him. I appreciate Him for who He is, not what He’s done. I’m glad to say now, my heart is humbled and I thank Him for being my Savior.
How you can help??
They accept baby items, especially diapers, and cleaning supplies: bleach, laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels and toilet paper. They also gladly accept gift cards for the girls to buy food and supplies.
