“The fool has said in his heart there is no God.” (Psalm 14:1)
Some of you have heard about the judge who when an atheist came before his court demanding that there be no recognition of religious holidays because not everyone observed such days and he felt atheists were excluded. The judge told him that they did indeed have their own holiday and it was April 1st!
Well, be that as it may, it is foolish for anyone to ignore God’s grace and love and offer of salvation! It is foolish to ignore the wisdom and guidance found in God’s word. It is foolish to deny the existence of God.
April has special significance at my house because my wife Cherrie was born April 2nd and our daughter Michelle Patterson was born April 7th. Our adopted grandson Jay Hudson was born this month too!
I am grateful that I grew up in a home where there was faith in God and regular attendance at worship and Sunday School. I am grateful that I could celebrate and share my faith with my family and friends. I thank God that our children and their spouses love and serve God.
If you neglect your own salvation or that of your family and friends, you will regret it in the end but if you pray for them and share the love of Jesus with them, you will be forever grateful.
Let us show God’s love and grace to those who have not yet found salvation in Jesus Christ so that they might be attracted to know Him and His transforming love!
What a great season to invite folks to church to hear the message of salvation in word and song and drama! And may they see Christ alive in you and me!
