Morning Prayer and Praise
1) Gathering: Gather around a table and a candle. Light the candle and say,
LEADER: O Lord, open our lips.
EVERYONE: And we shall declare Your praise.
2) Praise: A song of praise can be sung here followed by a prayer:
"New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us a desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord."
3) Scripture: Read a Scripture passage or a devotional from a book or website and ask one another, "How can you live out this scripture today?" Encourage one another with suggestions.
4) Prayers: Have everyone share a concern they have for themselves and a concern they have for someone else. Lift those up in prayer, asking for God to reveal Himself in power and love. Close with everyone saying the Lord's Prayer together.
5) Blessing: "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen."
