On
Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm, volunteers from OUMC cook hot dogs and
serve them with chips, cookies and beverages to the men participating in
the counseling services offered through Hubbard House at Ortega UMC.
 These
counseling classes target anger and other emotional issues. Counseling
classes of this nature also take place at many other churches and
locations throughout Jacksonville. We have been told that we are the
only location that offers such hospitality, and that the outcomes for
the classes offered at OUMC far exceeded those achieved any where else
in the city. The “Hotdog Ministry” proves that kindness, support and
respect are part of God’s healing hand. |
